Ross seeking re-election in District 1

I am Christy Ross, business owner, and Warren County native. I am seeking your vote for District 1 County Commissioner. Over the last four years serving as county commissioner, I have worked to improve our county overall and paid particular attention to issues brought to my attention by residents of District 1.
I worked closely with Upper Cumberland Development District to help secure the $600,000 grant for the jail, which will be used to purchase a body scanner. The body scanner will drastically improve the safety of our officers and inmates while working to help eliminate contraband being brought into our jail. This will ultimately save the taxpayer dollars by reducing man-hours and medical expenses.
As your District 1 Commissioner, I was able to advocate for West Elementary's needs. West Elementary, which is located in District 1, has seen substantial improvements over the last four years with the new library, new cafeteria, additional classrooms and new bathrooms.
I supported and will continue to support all county employees. We must ensure that we have employees to provide top-tier service to our citizens. To provide this level of service to our citizens, we must be able to recruit strong employees and also be able to retain them long term.
I have been an avid animal lover all my life and believe we can do better for the animals of Warren County. Currently, we are looking to combine resources with the city of McMinnville to build a new animal shelter. I fully support these efforts and hope we will be able to provide a more adequate facility for Warren County’s animals.
I currently serve on the Tourism Development Board, Senior Center Board, and the Park Theater Board. I have dedicated most of my life to volunteer work through multiple organizations to make Warren County a better place to live. To quote the Jaycee motto, I believe that "service to humanity is the best work of life". I believe those decades of volunteer service have better prepared me to be an effective commissioner.
I ask for your vote for District 1 Commissioner to continue my service to this county and its citizens that I love so much. Early voting begins July 15. General Election is on August 4. Thank you so very much for your consideration and support.
