Kasey Owens seeks re-election as District 3 Commissioner
submitted by Kasey Owens
My name is Kasey Owens and I’m seeking re-election as 3rd District County Commissioner. I
was raised in Warren County by my mother, Kerrie Owens and the late Danny Owens. I am a
Christian and member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church.
I have a master’s degree in Criminal Justice and am currently working on my Ed.S degree. I am employed at Warren County High School where I teach Criminal Justice. Also, I coach
basketball at Warren County Middle School. I am also an adjunct professor at Motlow State
Before becoming a teacher, I worked in accounts at my family business – Freedom Express. I am involved in my community as a basketball coach at Warren County Middle School and as a member of the Lion’s Club.
As a current commissioner, I serve on the Safety and Beer Board committee and the Health and Welfare Committee. My background is in criminal justice so I feel passionate about the Sheriff’s Department and county jail. Since I have been serving on the Safety committee, we have implemented successful programs at the Warren County Jail.
Furthermore, I am passionate about the Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center. While serving on the Health and Welfare committee, we have passed a resolution to help with humane tethering standards for animals in Warren County.
As a county, we need to be investing in our community. We need to invest in our county employees. We need to invest in our children and schools. We need to work together, regardless of political affiliation, to make Warren County the best. We want the next generation to be proud of where they live. We want them to stay in Warren County and continue to thrive after graduating.
I ran two years ago because I felt it was my civic duty. I still feel that way today. I humbly ask
for your support and vote on August 4.
Early voting for the August 4 Warren County general election begins Friday, July 15.
The Warren County Sports Authority is offering all 2022 candidates (challengers and incumbents) the option of announcing their intentions to run on our website. There is no charge to the candidate, it is free and accessible to all readers. Announcements are in the candidates' own words. The WCSA only provides the platform.
