Security Federal athlete of the week Aug. 8-14
Partnering with Security Federal, the Warren County Sports Authority will honor a standout local athlete each week. The WCSA and the Friendliest Bank in Town love seeing great athletic achievement and there are plenty to pick from every week in Warren County. From winter to summer, spring to fall, and on courts, fields, diamonds, dance floors and anywhere else an athlete can succeed, Security Federal and the Sports Authority are going to be on the lookout for the best of the best!

The Boyd Lady Bronco volleyball program is expecting to do big things this season. If they continue to get great performances from Kendlee Ferrell and others, it is going to be a year they’ll never forget at JK Stanley Gymnasium.
Ferrell is the first Security Federal Player of the Week from Boyd, as selected by the WCSA. She was a standout in last Tuesday’s season opener, when the Lady Broncos took down Lancaster Christian in four sets.
Standing behind the service line is where Ferrell truly excelled. Her ferocious swings led to big points for Boyd at home. The accuracy was there too, allowing Ferrell to rack up seven aces and 18 service points throughout the match.
Ferrell showed she has an all-around game throughout the night. She can make plays on the back end of the defense, pass to set up the offense and rise up at the net for big spikes.
Ferrell and the Lady Broncos will get a chance to show off for their home fans all this week. Boyd is scheduled to play at home Monday, Tuesday and Friday as the team splits its time between the TISAA and TNCAA this year.
Monday’s match against Franklin Road is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Boyd will also play Daniel One Academy and the Bradley Knights this week.
