Titans at Colts preview

Tennessee Titans (7-3) at Indianapolis Colts (7-3)

Time: Nov. 29, noon

Location: Lucas Oil Stadium Indianapolis, Indiana

Line: IND -3.0

The Tennessee Titans head to division rival Indianapolis with playoff implications on Sunday afternoon. The Titans are coming off of an impressive shorthanded win in Baltimore last Sunday. The Colts are also coming off a win last week against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. This week could determine the winner of the AFC South and have serious implications on this year’s playoff race.

Titans Keys to Victory:

1. Taking away the underneath passes: The Colt offense likes to throw underneath routes and screen passes. Taking away these short to intermediate passes will mean that Phillip Rivers will have to take shots down field. Rivers’ arm strength has started to tail off which could cause some inaccurate passes or throws that could be intercepted.

2. Corey Davis and AJ Brown: Brown and Davis needs to have a big day against this Colts secondary. In the week 10 matchup, Brown and Davis had fewer than 100 receiving yards combined. They both will need to make a bigger impact than that to get an important win on Sunday afternoon.

3. Protecting Ryan Tannehill: The Titans offensive line will need to keep Tannehill clean if they want to pull out a win Sunday. Allowing Tannehill to have a clean pocket gives him time to be accurate and make smart decisions through his progression on each drop back.

4. Creating turnovers: The Titans defense needs to create some more opportunities for the offense to get some points. Last week they did a good job with gaining an extra possession by getting an interception. If they can create multiple turnovers they could have a good shot at getting an important divisional win.

My Prediction:

The Titans will get revenge on the Colts after losing to them on a Thursday night matchup a couple of weeks ago. The Titans offense will be too much for the Colts defense to handle. I expect Derrick Henry to have a big day with some key members of the Colts defense being out.

Titans 28, Colts 23
